There is really no wrong way to use the spooler. But below is one of the most common ways to hold and spool ribbon with your spooler.
1. Take the end of your ribbon and slip it into the slot in the wheel
of the Ribbon Spooler. (Make sure you have already placed the spooling disk in place on the wheel.)
2. Place your index finger on the end of the spool wheel and your thumb on the handle, over top the ribbon end, to create tension.
3. Now begin turning the handle to wind up your ribbon.
4. Once you have completely wound your ribbon carefully remove the ribbon by removing the spooling disk from the spool wheel.
5. Now you are ready to insert the wound ribbon into one of the compartments of your Ribbon Dispenser. Be sure to leave a tail out to allow you to pull and dispense the length of ribbon you desire.
Each Ribbon Dispenser has 6 compartments which will hold up to 4 yards of ribbon depending on the thickness of the ribbon.
The small dispenser has 6 compartments for 6/8th" ribbon or smaller.
Each of the 6 compartments can hold up to about 3-4 yards of ribbon depending on the weight of the ribbon. Standard scrapbook 6/8th inch ribbon or smaller will fit in the dispenser.
Each of the 6 compartments can be divided into a smaller space useing a Divider Disc.
This can enable you to have up to 12 different ribbons in a dispenser instead of 6.
For wider (larger than 6/8th inch) ribbon, spool them, use a glue dot to hold the end and then store them in a cute box, baggie etc.

The storage tray is a thin molded plastic that will hold 6 dispensers, or 5 dispensers and a storage space for the spooler. This is great for setting on top of your desk to have the ribbon each to see and use. If you are useing Best Craft organizers mini stackables with 2 inch or 3.5 inch drawers you can put 2 storage trays side by side in a drawer.
There is also a 4 compartment tray for medium dispensers
Glitter glues work best if they are stored top down so the air bubble is at the bottom.
The Best Dazzle Caddy took that in to consideration and created a holder that works both ways. The clear lid has a slight compression fitting so you need to remove the top with 2 hands, however the litle bottles are easy to use one handed even if you are holding your paper down with the other hand.
This is a great way to Organize any .5oz bottle so it's ready to use tip up or down!
